Circus Natures’ Three Rings of Play

Circus Nature Performances and Activities to engage the audience in theatrical play. Each of Rings of Play are available either individually or in combination.

Ring One: Make Believe Theatre — Skits & Puppets, & Wizardly Storytelling

Ring Two: Circus Skills Extravaganza — Performance and Play led by Juggler Extraordinaire

Ring Three: Peaceful Pandemonium — Free Spirited Active Play inspired by A. O’Kay Clown antics

Objectives:

1. Lots of Fun for All Who Play

2. A Joyous Spectacle as Participants and Performers Play

3. Lead Cooperative Play to Integrate Performance and Games

4. Encourage People of Diverse Backgrounds to Play Together

5. Facilitate Personal Skills and Social Growth.

The Three Rings of Play have a variety of performances and kinds of play to provide to engage the audience in playing and performing.

People arriving can either watch the activities and performances or join in the play.

Areas open with materials for “free-play” allow people to get involved at their own pace.

As groups complete one Ring of Play, the next Ring of Play is ready to involve them.

Each of the Rings of Play will have one or two performer/coordinators to encourage and lead play as well as provide security for participants and equipment. Each Ring has performance, games, and “free-play” in sequence.

I would happily consider adapting this proposal to the needs of your event.

Materials and Play Areas Outline

Ring One: Make Believe Theatre — Costumes and props for impromptu skits and games. Puppet shows and stages, puppets, storytelling, camp songs and circle games.

Ring Two: Circus Skills Extravaganza — 30 juggling balls and 24 pins, 2 devil-sticks, hula hoops, jump ropes, large rubber balls, twirling ribbons, batons, poi spinners, stilts, pogo ball, spring feet, noisemakers, drums horns bells and whistles, Bubbles & Animal Balloons.

Ring Three: Peaceful Pandemonium — Catch the Clown, human pinball, dragon chase, piñatas swung from 6’ unicycle, red light - clown light, water-balloon toss, frizbees, tug of peace, show off showdown, trust games, animal antics, balancing tricks, mats and springboards.

Juggling shows: ½ hour of dazzling manipulations of diverse objects through time and space.

Mobile Clowning: A.O’Kay Clown entertainment and interaction, Quick tricks mixed with inspired and impromptu play with the crowd.

Circus Classes: From two-week courses to one-day workshops, Circus Classes inspire diverse talents.
